about
This is a two part composition by Theo Abellard. The first part is a lamentation and protest over racist behaviors such as blackface used in the Jim Crow film Birth of a Nation. The second part is named after the New Orleans neighborhood where Louis Armstrong grew up. It is also a metaphor for being black in North America.
